Field Trials

Field Trials

At Telcolab, we tailor our strategy, planning, and standardized approach to meet the specific requirements of our clients, ensuring a harmonious balance between manual and automated testing methodologies. Before commencing field testing, we meticulously prepare a pre-FT report encompassing essential details such as the test schedule, scope, carrier information, and Device Under Test (DUT) specifications. Our focus is on assigning competent resources capable of executing test cases in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). We equip our team with the necessary tools, logistics, SIM cards, and software required to conduct field testing seamlessly. Telcolab places great emphasis on Research and Development (R&D), developing operator-specific test plans that span across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies, enabling execution on commercial networks worldwide. To enhance efficiency, we have developed our proprietary in-house automation tool, MATT, tailored for customized test plans and stress testing. Our commitment to providing the best and most secure work environment is underscored by our well-trained team, both domestically and internationally.

Stationary Testing:

Telcolab’s stationary testing services are designed to deliver bug-free and high-performing devices to enterprises, ensuring ample regression coverage and accelerating time to market. By leveraging our stationary testing services, companies have achieved higher scores on customer experience indexes while reducing costs and improving time to market. Our stationary testing comprises two components:
  1. Manual Testing:
Device testing is a nuanced process where real human experience can yield desired results. Our Quality Assurance (QA) teams utilize manual testing to ensure that the final product functions as intended. With a focus on exploring use-cases from the end user’s perspective, manual testing verifies adherence to specified criteria and identifies any deviations. Each test case is meticulously executed manually, with any deviations documented in bug reports for resolution by developers. Manual testing is user-centric, emphasizing exploratory monitoring to validate whether the application meets user requirements and expectations. It serves as a vital element in software development, uncovering more usability issues than automated testing due to its flexibility. Manual testing precedes automated testing for newly developed software, ensuring bug-free functionality through rigorous scrutiny and verification. Telcolab’s Manual Test Approach:
  • Functional test
  • Modem test
  • Performance KPI Test
  • Stability test
At Telcolab, we have developed our proprietary Automation Test tool in-house, supported by a dedicated team tasked with its ongoing development and maintenance. This approach allows us to adapt the tool to evolving customer requirements and emerging technological advancements. While manual testing remains valuable in certain scenarios, there are instances where Quality Assurance (QA) tests prove too laborious or intricate for human testers to execute efficiently. This is where our automation testing tool, TATT, proves invaluable, ensuring continuous execution of tests in conjunction with manual testing efforts. By leveraging automation, we enhance the efficiency and speed of our testing processes, ultimately delivering higher quality products to market in a timelier manner.

Mobility or Drive Testing:

Utilizing the capabilities of Telcolab’s mobility solution, we offer comprehensive end-to-end Mobility/drive test solutions. These solutions encompass drive routes meticulously designed to simulate various RF conditions, such as Near Cell, Edge Cells, SRVCC, and Band Handover scenarios. Our Mobility testing methodology is complemented by a range of resources and tools dedicated to mobility management. These include drivers, test vans, and strategically positioned RF spots, all of which are instrumental in executing our test cases effectively and efficiently. Approaches to Telcolab Mobility Testing:
  • 4G PS Handover/Redirect (Inter Band)
  • 4G PS Handover/Redirect (Intra Frequency)
  • 5GNR/SRVCC/CSFB and other transitioning tests
  • Cell selection/Reselection/Handover tests
  • CS+PS Inter-RAT handover (Wi-Fi Hotspot/Tethering)
  • Data performance test
  • Device performance in different network conditions (OOS/Band preferred/network capable)
  • Inter Rat (Data)
  • Inter Rat (Voice)
  • Navigation testing
  • Network testing (Call/Multi-RAB/Network registration/H-VPLMN/etc.)
  • Voice and Video call test in various network coverage areas
  • VoLTE Call Handover (FDD-TDD & TDD-FDD)
